A Delightful French Café Experience with Year 4
A huge thank you to the Year 4 team for organising such a fantastic French Café experience! The event was a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase their language learning, and it was heartwarming to see the excitement and pride on their faces.
From the moment they arrived, the children were abuzz with anticipation. They felt immensely proud of what they had learned, and although a little nervous, their excitement shone through as they prepared to share their learning with their parents. Their enthusiasm for learning French was truly evident!
As parents took their seats, they looked forward to the immersive French Café experience. Some even shared stories about how their children continue their French learning outside of school and use their language skills when traveling to France and other Francophone countries. It was inspiring to hear how deeply engaged our students are in language learning beyond the classroom.
The event began with a delightful role play performed by two students, who seamlessly incorporated key vocabulary words and phrases into their dialogue. This was followed by a traditional French song, beautifully accompanied by bells, creating a magical atmosphere. What a spectacular show! Every child was fully engaged, their enjoyment radiating through their performance.
Following the performance, the children took orders from their parents using their learned vocabulary, helping and encouraging them to use French phrases too! It was a joy to witness our Ashfield community come together in such a meaningful way, celebrating the children’s learning and embracing the French culture.
