4V Cornet Performance

Well done to 4V who impressed parents and governors with their cornet performance. They have learnt how to play the cornet, rhythm, beat and learnt how to read basic music notation.

Year 5 making Greek pots

On Friday Year 5 enjoyed making Greek pots inspired by their visit to the British Museum on the 5th March.

World Book Day

The school was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday last week as we celebrated World Book Day.  It was lovely to have a whole school assembly.  Miss Davison rang the bell to let the children and staff know to get comfy with their pillow/blanket and start reading their books.

Eco Council

Mr Jones and the Year 3 and 4 Eco Councillors have been working hard this week  at lunchtime planting Sunflowers!  

Year 5 Trip to The British Museum

Year 5 have been studying Ancient Greece and visited The British Museum on Thursday.  At the Museum the children had the opportunity to learn more about Ancient Greece by exploring the  Galleries. We would like to thank all the parent helpers for giving up their time to come along and  support us.  

Playground Mystery!

On Thursday, the children arrived at school to find that a mysterious visitor had been on the playground. All that was left behind were some unusual footprints and a scattering of colourful feathers. Year 5 Knex Challenge

Year 5 students on Thursday 26th February explored how to design and create a Rocket with 2 boosters that separate and a capsule that comes back to earth, there were some amazing creations! Congratulations to the following children whose designs won. Bella and Ineya (5D) and Carter and Gigi (5C)

Ashfield 1st Place Winners

We are delighted to announce that Ashfield Junior School are 1st place winners achieving the most points across the term represented by the children for the Elms School Leaderboard between September and December 2025. We were overall champions and came 1st out of 86 schools!
